Jack Cooper wears many hats, but his favourite is always a Fedora! He perches one atop his head while wearing his performing shirt, purchased in Vegas while renewing his marital vows with an Elvis officient. He dons this garb while appearing at retirement homes or other venues as a solo musician, with his bands Jack and the Spare Hearts and Funk 'n Circumstance, or as he plays trombone with the Big Bad Brass trio that accompanies Kitchener-based blues artist Ian Andrews.

Whether performing original material or interpreting numbers written by others, Jack gravitates towards songs that illuminate the world around him: Joy, sorrow, hurt, and all the ugliness in between- warts and all. Over the relatively short time that he's been performing for seniors in different setting, Jack has found a niche performing life-affirming, upbeat songs that he belts or croons accompanied by his guitar and backing tracks. He also has his valve trombone on hand to play the odd solo bits that crop up during his sets. His warmth, engaging presence, and dry humour helps ease his way into the hearts of both new and familiar audiences.

Jack lives in Waterloo Region and has been part of its music community for over thirty years as performer, recording artist, presenter, publisher, and low-brass sideman on various recording and live performance projects.
